Do you need a mixdown of your song/s?
Our Studio is equipped with an analog inline console (Soundcraft Series 2400) with superb sounding (hand-modified) EQs. Additional analog outboard-EQs such as the SSL4000/Serie E and G module and the Neve 1073 are also available. We use 2 G4 Macintosh computers, both equipped with a 1.25 GHz processor. Both computers are outfitted with the Protools 32 Mix System, and Logic Pro 7, with many additional digital modules for instance the Urei 1173, Joomek, Altiverb (high-quality Reverb plugin on the basis of impulse response), and many more. We utilize the legendary Yamaha NS10M-Studio Speaker System. In addition, we have high-quality AD/DA converters of RME that enable the routing of all signals from multitrack to analog and in groups back again to multitrack.
We offer several mixing services you can choose from that differ both in sound and input/temporal expenditure. The different services are explained below:
1.
Mix Analog SSL,
incl Automation & Total Recall.
When applying this type of mixdown, our Studio uses very high-quality SSL-EQ modules that can equally be found in the most expensive analog consoles such as the SSL-4000-G and - E EQ. This Equalizer is also part of the SSL4000G as well as the SSL9000J. Songs of the Black Eyed Peas, Dido, Seal, Britney Spears, Madonna, No Doubt and other well-know artists are mixed on such consoles. In the mixing process, all signals are run through and recorded by the individual EQ modules, which lends the mix transparency and clarity. The Protools 32 TK System serves as hard disk recording system and has 112 high-quality plugins installed. A G4 with 2 x 1.25 GHz is used. Further tracks can be passed on using an additional G4 with Logic Pro 7. We optionally have the possibility to incorporate the analog console when mixing. To give an example: we could first route the Logic Drums to the analog console, then route them through the Protools-Returns to finally record them via the SSL-module. This way, you can benefit from the quality SSL-Sound without having to pay thousands of dollars for a rental studio that owns a SSL-console!
Automation:
After completing the EQ recording, the mix is automated in its' entirety, which is quite a bit of fun due to the agreeably warm SSL-sound! Instruments move to the forefront if vocals are suspended, strings can be handled dynamically, synthesizers shift from left to right, and thus movement is developed in a mix! Everything from volume, panorama, effect portions (sends), as well as all plugin parameters can be automated.
Total
Recall:
The advantage of total recall is that all signals are digitized and saved in Protools after the analog mixdown is completed. The mix and all relevant settings are therefore not lost and can be restored at any time in the future, should slight changes/modifications to the mix be necessary. This service is naturally also included in our overall rate.
